The product, in the report: Sierra Bean Pot - thin-walled ceramic bean pot style cookware for beans/stew - tan ceramic - Purchased Amazon Order [REDACTED] $34.19 - Exploded/shattered first use Jan 30 2026 thin-wall failure - ASIN unknown - thin wall documented vs expected - send shard injury
Product: Sierra Bean Pot (thin-walled ceramic bean pot style) - Order [REDACTED] purchased via Amazon.com for $34.19 - ASIN unknown, Manufacturer listed as Sierra. On first use on January 30, 2026, during cooking a bean dish, the pot exploded / shattered due to thin-wall failure. Shards ejected across kitchen. One shard cut my hand, embedding bean particle/debris (see photos: [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED]). I required first aid ([REDACTED]). Attempted to seek care but [REDACTED] not opened (see email). My husband (adult male, DOB [REDACTED]) has blood-triggered seizure condition - seeing my bleeding hand he collapsed to floor (photo [REDACTED]) with secondary injury risk. No ambulance but high risk. Thin wall cross-section documented in sierra-bean-pot-thin-wall-evidence.pdf versus expected bean pot thickness. Amazon told me “unable to offer refund” despite defect reported inside 30 days. Hazard is shattering / laceration / secondary medical event. Amazon is distributor per CPSC July 30 2024 Decision & Order and Jan 16 2025 Order. Request: CPSC accept as injury/hazard report, order Amazon to refund to original payment [REDACTED] ending [REDACTED] per Amazon-Federal-Fraud-Report, not gift card, and order product removal to prevent additional injuries. For public report, redact full home address to city/state only ([REDACTED]), do not publish hand photo with identifying features, and redact child’s name and personal cell number.
