Purchased bean Stoneware Bean pots and extra lids made by the Ohio Stoneware Company for purpose of making Boston Baked Beans in the Kitchen Oven.

Found out that the Bean pot itself is wonderful no problem - however the Lid that came with it for it and the extra lids are made thinner than the walls of the bean pot. They go on top of the bean pot and as such become extremely hazzardly Hot far hotter than the rest of the Bean pot. I found many reveiws in polaces the bean pots are being sold and everyone loves the pot as I do however the lids and numbver one complaint on the pots and nearly everyone up and down in the reviews is stating same thing that manufacturer should cretate new lid - cant grasp lid with pot holder knob on top of lid to small and lids over heat and may cause burn to hand injuries extreme heat unexpected to user in that they are far hotter than the overall pot when pot is in ove at 300 degree temperature for 6 to 8 or more hours etc The lid dowes not reit over heating enough. I and all others I read of love the bean pot and bean pots are very hard to fine made out of stone ware this appears to be the only pot and manufacturere of trhem left in business no one wants to give uyp their bean pot or in adequate bean pot cover designed for it . It Appears everyone even I would like the manufacturer to create a better cover and replace the poor design current covers with the bettr cover for instead of get your money back type thing and toss out the whole bean pot. We need some new style upgraded cover for the stone ware bean pots - heat is so intense on cover it is unbeleiveable adn the cover knob to lifut it off the top of pot means ones fingers are to close to lid not set back a hair at all even. I The knob of lid is nearly imposible to grasp as well as the intense heat on it when ,makimng baked beans , or when givint them to others and they warm pots up to reheat them in their homes then give pots back in few days - the potential risk of burn hazzard from cover is far more than that of any baked bean pot seen before.

I did burn my fingers and used cold water to take down the burn - often - with them.

Many people giving bean pot reviews on theis pots online in comments to the pots are stating they same has happened to them .
