The product, in the report: Cuisinart Model #84193-20R Saucepan with cover 3.0 Qt/2.8 L Stainless steel

This afternoon (3/18/18) I heard an explosion and shattering noise coming from our kitchen. I ran in and was baffled by where exactly the noise came from because nothing was running - not the dishwasher, nothing on the stove, nothing in the oven, etc. I opened the dishwasher which was NOT running and had not been running in over a week.

There were shards of glass everywhere which resulted from the glass lid of a Cuisinart saucepan which was placed inside two days before and remained untouched. The lid had exploded by itself. And the glass continued to shatter and crack off by itself as I was looking at it.

Attached is the photo of the lid and the bottom of the pan for model number. I had purchased it approximately two months ago.

The product, in the report: Stainless Steel Sauté Pan with Cover (glass) 3.0 Qt/2.9L (approximately 10”) V# 39178 11 13

The sauté pan was simmering on LOW on the burner. I was in the room next to the kitchen. I heard a sudden, loud pop. I asked my husband, who was in the kitchen but not near the stove, what happened. He walked over to the stove and noticed that the glass cover of the sauté pan had completely shattered. Large and small pieces of glass had fallen into the simmering skillet. Several pieces were quite visible, but many of the shards could not be seen in the sauce. Glass was also on the stove and counter top. The glass lid had the appearance of a shattered windshield. Two large holes were left where the handle was once attached. The handle fell into the pan. Removing the cover was very difficult because pieces would fall off at the slightest movement. We managed to place it in a towel-lined cardboard box. No one was hurt, for which we are very grateful. The exploding glass cover could have caused serious injuries to us.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart pots & pans set. glass lids top silver/grey pot bottom

In the last 10 days my husband has had two glass lids shatter.

The first lid burst and shattered while sitting on the counter next to the stove. The lid was not on top of a hot surface, pan or pot.

The second lid was placed on top of a pot containing recently roasted beef bones, water and vegetable stock (placed in it and brought to a boil).

This is very disturbing. I did not think there was an expiration date on glass cookware.

Summary: Glass lid of Cuisinart skillet shattered under normal usage on first use

    I purchased a Cuisinart 722-30G Chef’s Classic 12-Inch Skillet with Glass Cover from Amazon.com. Link provided: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0078P9D8U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Shipment arrived 4/30/2015. I used the skillet for the first time the next date 5/1/2015.

I cooked spinach in the skillet following the directions: on stovetop at medium (not high) heat. I cooked with the lid on, and after cooking, I moved the pan to cool on an unused, cold burner. At that point, all burners on the stove were off, and the pan was not in contact with anyt other pots, pans, etc.

Approximately an hour later, the glass lid exploded with a loud crack. Fortunately, I was in another room at the time. The lid handle and some glass fell into the food.

It was only luck that no one was injured: I was lucky to be in another room instead of next to the skillet.

The product, in the report: Glass lid for Stainless Steel Pan Model# 7333-24HG

We purchased a Cuisinart Stainless Steel cooking set from our local JC Penney just over a month ago. After dinner we set one of the lids in the sink by itself. About an hour later, we heard a loud bang. When we looked in the sink, the glass lid was shattered. We made sure nothing had dropped on it and no water was running. It had broken all by itself leaving glass in our sink and on our counter top. I did an online search and found a number of similar complaints. Cuisinart will replace the lid if we pay the shipping. But, who wants a lid that can shatter at any time? I don’t want anyone in my household using these glass lids. So, we’re left to buy replacement lids at our expense.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Non-Sick Hard Anodized Cookware set with glass lids The Model # on the pan is 666-24.

Cooking with my new Cuisinart Cookware that has glass lids. Lifted lid to check on contents and it literally exploded sending shards of glass everywhere (I have pictures). Even sent glass into the next room (dining room from the kitchen!). It was extremely scary and quite dangerous. The glass was not at all shatter proof - it was like glass shards - not chunks. My granddaughter (thank God) had just left the kitchen or she could have been seriously injured by flying glass. Took my husband and I over three hours to clean the kitchen from all the flying glass that was sent everywhere.

I checked your website and could find no recalls...something really needs to be done to address this very hazardous product!

The consumer says that he cooked that morning on the stove top with the sauce pan for about 20 minutes. He left it on the stove, which was off. Three to four hours later he was in the bedroom and heard a cracking noise. He says the lid was shattered into small tiny pieces. He says that he contacted the manufacturer who offered a new lid. He is concerned with the lid exploding. They said that
