The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made Jun 1, 2023, sent to the company Jun 5, 2023, published by CPSC Jun 20, 2023

The product, in the report: 9x13” borosilicate glass pan

I was using a borosilicate pan I purchased from a vendor on Amazon called Fresh_Colony from a manufacturer called Bovado USA. I own two of these pans from this company. They’ve sat on the shelf since 2022, used only for no-bake bars. We assembled lasagna in the pan on Friday 5/26/2023. Baked well within the range this pan is advertised (the product landing page on Amazon states “ BOVADO glass products are oven safe up to 1076°F (580°C) and can tolerate changing temperatures without cracking. Do not use lids in oven or microwave.” We baked at 400, and when we went to remove the pan from the oven, the entire left side of the pan popped, shattered, spilling contents 400 degrees all over towel and hands. Had we not acted quickly, putting a sheet pan under, using silicone mitts, we would have been severely burned. We contacted Amazon. We were on hold and chat for over two hours with no resolution. They promised to “investigate” but i doubt that will happen given the number of reviews of the product stating the exact same thing happened to other consumers. One explains the pan is actually made in China, not US as the name implies. The packaging also says not safe for temperature fluctuations, contrary to what the Amazon site landing page states.
