The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Mar 6, 2012, sent to the company Mar 14, 2012, published by CPSC Mar 28, 2012

The product, in the report: 10x15 Transparent rectangle Pyrex baking dish. Approx 7 years old.

Yesterday evening, it preheated the over to 450. While pre-heating, I prepared the dish with milk, water, cheese and potatoes and spices, nothing was frozen, everything was room temperature. It was then placed in the preheated oven for 16 minutes, top covered with foil. I removed the dish once, placed it on the stove to remove the foil. The stove top had not be in use all day. Place it back in the over for another 10 minutes. 1 minute before removing it from the over, it exploded sending broken glass pieces all over in the oven. Upon further research, it seems this has occurred to others as well. The dish is old, possible 7 yr - is that considered old? I am rattled enough to not use Pyrex in the oven anymore, I don’t think i’ll be using it in the microwave either.
