  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 5, 2026, sent to the company Apr 9, 2026, published by CPSC Apr 30, 2026

The product, in the report: Lid for 5.5qt pan. Cookware set consists of seven induction cooking pans and four lids.

I purchased the Tramontina cookware set from Costco on 4/18/2025. In February 2026 the glass lid for the 5.5qt pan shattered resulting in glass flying all over the kitchen. Luckily the lid was in a drying rack and most of the glass was confined to the sink, counter and surrounding floor. I never used the lid in the oven, never washed it in a dishwasher. No one was injured only because the lid shattered when no one was near.

Tramontina Stainless Steel 12 Quart Covered Stock Pot, Walmart # 550129241 The bottom of this nearly new pot is warped and whenever it reaches a certain temperature (around boiling), it “pops” with a loud bang, flipping the lid off, and ejecting the hot contents of the pot onto the stove, walls, and floor.

The product, in the report: Pot glass lid

SIRS: I wanted to let you know that I bought some pots and pans (maybe at Costco store) some time ago. I have been making soup, and they have a lid that goes with the pot. The problem with these glass lids is that they explode while you are cooking. I was cooking one day some soup and the lid exploded while on the stove. I did not think anything of it because I thought it was just something that would never happen again. The problem was when I was cooking again for the second time, using the same brand lid and pot it exploded again.

It is a miracle I didn’t get hit in the face with the hot liquid and fragments of glass in the eyes. It could’ve blinded me or gotten my face burned. This is dangerous, and I wanted to let you know so no one gets hurt with these lids. The brand on the lid said Tramontina as it says on the lid.

I have kept the lid and pot where I was cooking. They should put warnings on the lids or boxes when they sell them to avoid anyone getting hurt. I’m sending a picture of broken lid .

Thank you very much [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Tramontina 8 pc Stainless Steel cookware set

During unboxing of a Tramontina stainless steel cookware set my wife was scratched by the edge of a lid for the cookware. Examination found metal wire shavings protruding from the edge of the lid. The protrusion was very thin metal ~0.5cm in length, probably left over from the milling process without being properly polished. There were 3 other metal wires around the lid. The wire did not break the skin, but they pose a hazard if the thin wires were to fall off into food and be ingested.

The product, in the report: 8 inch Saute Pan (teflon)

There are no rivets on the inside of the pan and where the handle attaches to the outside of the pan it broke off.

While finishing cooking some eggs on the range for approximately five minutes (temperature unknown) she was transferring the eggs to the plate then the pan to the sink when the handle completely detached itself from the pan.

She estimates using the pan at least one to two times a week. She contacted the firm and they asked that she send the pan back into there office. She has agreed to mail it back to their location for further investigation.
