  1. First aid

Made Aug 6, 2025, sent to the company Aug 26, 2025, published by CPSC Sep 10, 2025

The product, in the report: 10” frying pan. The Pioneer Woman Harlow 15-Piece Cookware Set, Ceramic Non-Stick Pots and Pans Set, Denim Blue. Product URL: https://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Pioneer-Woman-Harlow-15-Piece-Ceramic-Cookware-Set-Denim-Blue/12003372988

My hand was badly burned when grabbing the handle of a new The Pioneer Woman 10” frying pan that we just purchased from Walmart and used during normal handling (product link: https://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Pioneer-Woman-Harlow-15-Piece-Ceramic-Cookware-Set-Denim-Blue/12003372988). As a mechanical engineer for 30 years, I studied thermal conductivity and heat transfer. Never would I have thought the handle of these pans can reach 272F while frying sausage, as measured by me using a [REDACTED] multimeter with thermocouple (gas/flame burner setting at 7 out of 10), which is unsafe and a disgrace to real engineers and designers. Walmart should recall and redesign this product.

The product, in the report: The Pioneer Woman Prairie Signature Cast Aluminium Double Griddle12x18 inches

I used this pan to make tortillas for dinner and was cooking in a five burner gas stove. The size of the pan is great but after several minutes of cooking we smelled a strong chemical smell. After a few more minutes the handle sparked and there was a small fire on the handle. The handle was not directly over a flame but I don’t think it is safe for people to use with gas stoves.

  3. First aid

Made Dec 28, 2023, sent to the company Jan 3, 2024, published by CPSC Jan 19, 2024

The product, in the report: The Pioneer Woman Frontier Speckle 18-Piece Aluminum Cookware Set, Teal (SOLD at WALMART) Items Included 2.5qt Sauce Pan;5.5qt Dutch Oven;304 Steamer;8qt Stock Pot;8in Fry Pan;10in Fry Pan;12in Fry Pan;3.5qt Saute Pan;4pc Felt;2pc 12in Tools

I was using The Pioneer Woman Frontier Speckle Teal Cookware/pots and pans, while cooking and using the 5.5 Quart Dutch oven I took it off the stove over to strainer as I went to dump into the strainer the silicone that is wrapped around the handles slides and it caused the pan to tilt and burned me with the scalding hot water that was in the noddle’s I was straining , I have video of the burns and showing how the silicone easily slides from one side to the other on the handles of the 5.5 Quart Dutch Oven, this also happens on all the lids of the entire set. I believe the silicone should cover the entire handles on both the Pans and lids as I had the same issue with the lids and was burnt several times, FINALLY after only owning them for about a month and my teenage daughter getting burned, I trashed the entire set, what a waste of the money over $120 ..... Someone asked why didn’t I donate them, and my answer is this, “I DON’T WANT ANYONE ELSE GETTING BURNED!” I apologize it has taken me a few months to report this, but honestly didn’t know where to report it to until now!
