Hurt, no treatment Made Jan 11, 2019, sent to the company Feb 13, 2019, published by CPSC Mar 1, 2019
The product, in the report: Springform cake Pan by Smart Living, a Stop n Shop brand.
As removed from a hot oven, the springform cake pan latch came undone, spilling hot contents. The latch malfunctioned twice. Once while baking the crust, and again when baking the cheesecake. The brand is Smart Living, by Stop n Shop grocery store in CT, USA. The pan latch inside the pan had an indentation, and upon heating became undone. Other pans in the store have the same indentation and would potentially come undone when heated. This presents a problem of injury to the consumer upon use of this pan. The pan was recommended by Stop n Shop as safe in a recipe magazine produced monthly.
