The product, in the report: This is the PERFECT TORTILLA Pan Set. It is an “As Seen On TV” item. It is a set of 4 bowl-shaped pans in which you bake tortillas. It appears to be very popular abd a bi seller. There is a main website for this item (www.buyperfecttortilla.com) which can easily be found by a Google search. It is being sold in many different store chains and online sources.
This complaint is about the “Perfect Tortilla Pan Set” --THE COATING OF THE PANS CAME OFF ONTO THE TORTILLAS IN MANY PLACES.
We bought the “Perfect Tortilla Pan Set” last week. We used it for the first time on Monday (3/18). We did was the pans in warm soapy water before using and followed all directions, baking at the recommended temperature. We ate the tortilla for dinner. My husband ate about one-and-a-half tortillas. I wasn’t hungry so ate little. My husband said he felt unwell last night after dinner. I questioned him, and he said that midway through dinner, he started to feel feverish and to have pangs of nausea. It wasn’t until Tuesday at lunch that I saw the many metal-colored marks on the leftover tortillas, and I also saw that the coating of the pans had flaked off in many places. On Tuesday evening after work, before I told him about this, my husband complained of continued waves of nausea.
Obviously these pans are defective. We are also worried that they are dangerous! We hope we didn’t ingest something dangerous to our health! We want to have the metalic residue on the tortillas tested to know what it is, and if it is dangerous--can you help us with this? We also want to warn others about this defective product!
