  1. No one hurt

Made Sep 27, 2013, sent to the company Nov 8, 2013, published by CPSC Nov 7, 2013

The product, in the report: Hy Cite Ent, LLC, Royal Prestige pots and pans, sold by Lightyear sales office from Sacramento, CA. DELUXE COMBINATION SET of pots and pans from 1.5 qt sauce pan to 6 qt dutch oven. 9-ply thermal wall cookware.

9/27/13 This is a Safety Concern re: Hy Cite Ent.,LLC, Royal Prestige, Lightyear (seller)

I purchased two sets of Royal Prestige cookware 1/21/2007. I bought the DELUXE COMBINATION which included the SIGNATURE & HOME MAKER sets. I updated my contact information with the request of a new gasket for one of the lids a couple of years ago. Early 2013 I was sent a voluntary PRODUCT RECALL NOTIFICATION for my 9-ply thermal wall cookware. I called the company and stated my concern using the cookware based upon the notification but it is my only set of cookware, at that time. I asked for a refund. The recall center suggested I return part of the two sets, keep a few pans behind to cook with while they “fix” the returned pans with a gasket on the side wall of the pots. The return was seamless through the local UPS store with the first set being sent 3/19/13. Once the first set came back, I re-used the boxes and placed the remaining pots in them, again to the same UPS store. I was told by Hy Cite the first set would be a rush return or within 4 weeks since it was my only cooking set. I was told the second set of returns would take the customary 6-8 weeks. I didn’t remember exactly how long I had sent the second set off but when I was sure it had been at least 2 months I contacted Hy Cite regarding my second return. As it turned out, I had been without my total cookware sets for at least 6 months. They stated, at the 9/19/13 conversation, that they kept and warehoused the second set of returned pots and now request the “fixed” pots also be returned. I again asked for a refund. The recall associate, [REDACTED], stated I had one of three options. My options: 1. I would receive a credit voucher for future purchases. (I went online and do not see any products I would be interested in purchasing from this company) 2. I would be given a replacement set of 5-ply pots and pans for my 9-ply pots and pans PLUS a free pot depending upon the amount of sets purchased. 3. I would exchange for 5-ply instead of voucher difference?? (this is what I wrote from my conversation but did not make sense. I was frustrated by this point and did not want a clarification as it sounded much like the other two options separately.)

I repeatedly asked for a refund. My WARRANTY states a FULL 50 YEAR of repair or replace the item with an equivalent piece at no charge. They do not have an equivalent product, therefore, I requested a refund due to it being defective and not usable without potential danger to me, the consumer. I went and purchased a usable set of pots and pans after this 9/19/13 conversation as I no longer wanted to use the “fixed” set which they stated needed to be returned. I am unhappy they warehoused my 2nd set of returned product with my intention of it being fixed and they did not bother to contact me their change in policy. I had to call to find out about the missing set
