The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: 8-9” fry pan

Several months ago, my 31 year old son was using the Hamilton Beach high quality, stainless steel, super capsule bottom (made in China) 8-9” fry pan when I heard a loud “pop” sound and he jumped back. He turned off the flame and said that he saw something fly off the fry pan. When we looked at the pan, we noticed that one of the rivets that attached the handle to the pan was no longer there.

Immediately thereafter I sent an email to Hamilton Beach reporting the incident, but never received a response. I did not know who else to inform, but read the article in the L.A. Times about the [REDACTED] pans being recalled and decided to advise you. I have saved the pan.
