The product, in the report: Gothem Steel square frying pan, Aqua Blue color Gotham Steel Aqua Blue Pots and Pans Set, 12 Piece Nonstick Ceramic Cookware, Includes Frying Pans, Stockpots & Saucepans, Stay Cool Handles, Oven & Dishwasher Safe, 100% PFOA Free, Turquoise
I have had my pots and pans set made by Gothem Steel for almost 3 years. Today when I was heating up oil one of the rivets that holds the handle on my square frying pan exploded. It sounded like a gun shot. There are shards of metal coming out of it. I am just afraid of this happening to someone else and they get hurt by it. It was scary! I really don’t want to use any of my pan set after this.

No one hurt Made Dec 6, 2022, sent to the company Dec 9, 2022, published by CPSC Dec 23, 2022
The product, in the report: Small red and brown nonstick frying pan, marked 6111. Part of a set of ten pieces. So disappointing that shortly after receiving these, I contacted the company about their false advertising. They were unmoved.
I was using a Gotham steel “nonstick” pan that I have owned for about five years although I have not used the set of pans often because the nonstick feature never worked according to the claims. I had not used this small frying pan for many months but chose it as all I was doing was to toast a piece of bread for avocado toast. I had the pan on a medium flame for about two minutes when I heard a loud explosion. It sounded like a pressurized bottle like a wine bottle under great pressure. I felt a whoosh past my head in the back and I ducked, then looked at my windows because I feared it was a bullet. I went through my place looking for the source until it dawned on me that it may have been the pan. I checked it out, by then it had cooled off and been out away. When I looked at it, I saw one of the two rivets had blown off. It left behind a sharp exposed piece of metal where the river cap had been. I did not find the cap until the next day. It had flown 14 feet from the stove to the dining room floor. Had that hit my eye, my neck or my head it could have maimed or killled me. And now I’m very wary of using my stove. The company’s response after several attempts to explain the potential damage and hazard this reflected, the answer was to offer me reimbursement once I sent back the entire set, now five years old. They did not acknowledge any responsibility or concern for how dangerous and frightening this incident was.

No incident, no one hurt Made Jul 31, 2021, sent to the company Aug 3, 2021, published by CPSC Aug 17, 2021
The product, in the report: Gotham steel 8” ceramic coated frying pan Model 10- Piece Aluminum Ti-Ceramic Nonstick Coating Coo
Rivet shield on non-stick cooking pan by Gotham steel exploded while cooking. Earlier today my wife was making a stir fry on a Gotham steel non-stick pan. Suddenly there was a big explosion and something flew onto her face but luckily didn’t hit her as she was wearing her glasses. It took a while for us to figure out what had happened. The rivet for the handle of the frying pan has a nickel coated shield. It looks like there was moisture inside the shield which got super heated and built pressure to explore it off. We are really lucky that no one was hurt. I think these products need to be recalled as soon as possible so that no one else is hurt.

No one hurt Made Oct 29, 2020, sent to the company Nov 6, 2020, published by CPSC Nov 23, 2020
The product, in the report: Gotham™ Steel 9.5” pan. This is a brown color stainless steel cooking iron with a non-stick coating.
I would like to file a safety complaint agains Gotham Steel for their product Gotham™ Steel 9.5” pan. I purchased one of these pans and it exploded while using. The metal rivet that connects the handle to the pan ricochet while using and this can seriously harm an individual. The pan was only on the flame for about a minute before this happened. I tried to contact the company multiple times to make them aware of this problem but their customer service is not reachable. From what I gathered online from their website https://www.gothamsteelstore.com/ they accept returns at the following address: 400 RETURNS RD Wallingford CT, 06494

No one hurt Made Jun 7, 2018, sent to the company Jun 29, 2018, published by CPSC Jul 23, 2018
The product, in the report: Frying Pan
Caller reported that the frying pan while in use dispersed the cap of the rivet which became a projectile to the other side of the kitchen. She stated that there was a loud noise like an explosion but she was not aware of where the noise emanated from until later when she discovered the object near the kitchen sink. Caller feels that if a child had been present it could have caused serious injuries.
The manufacturer was not contacted as yet.
Caller is concerned that this frying pan presents a safety hazard to users and bystanders and should be recalled.

The product, in the report: Copper 9.5 fry pan that still sticks and now blew a part off
On February 21 I was frying a brat in a 9.5 inch Gotham Steel pan when all of sudden there was a LOUD bang (sounded like a gun shot) my husband and I both looked at each other trying to figure out what happen I then notice one of the rivets that fastens the handle to the pan was not bright like the other (we found out later it was a cover over the rivet) I found that object 20+ feet away from the stove where I was standing It didn’t hit anyone lucky or any serious object but it could of and could of been more serious than what it was I have called the company or I thought it was company and they want pictures to give me a new one I don’t want a new one I think it is dangerous to humans, objects and pets I have asked them instead of pictures and a new pan if they would issue a call tag and take this pan and investigate WHY this happen If it happened to me it could of happen to others ALSO it sticks and doesn’t do as they advertise Thank You I was not frying on high heat as this pan burns easily so it was on low-medium heat

The product, in the report: Product handle pop rivet exploded off the inside of the pan while cooking has brown
Have a pan- gotham steel products - that had an issue when cooking hashbrowns with it. The rivet for the handle inside the pan literally blew off- firecracker force-
Called the customer service number -1-888-326-0978 and was asked to fill out a form and sent 9.99 back with the product for replacement. I did not accept this and they then gave me a number 1-800 423-4248 (emson?) to call but had to leave a message.
I have pictures of this and am concerned for others that if they are startled could seriously burn themselves. Please let me know if you want these pictures.
The company does not respond very well and not well accessible to quickly resolve this.
