I had purchase a 10 pc Food Network cookware set from Kohls department store in December, 2023. On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, I was warming the frying pan to make dinner. The pan was sitting on medium/low heat, for maybe a minute when I heard a loud pop and a ting hit my floor. I was not sure what had happened as my ear was ringing and throbbing. I thought the worst and was thankful my kids were not near me or in the same room. As I looked around I found a piece of metal from the pan that flew about ten feet away down the hallway from the kitchen. When I looked closer at the pan, a metal cap that holds the handle to the pan had exploded off of the pan. If this had hit someone it could have ended badly in a freak accident.

(02/28/2023) The consumer was heating up food in the pan. He heard a loud explosion, and something hit him on the right side of his head that left his ears ringing. He discovered that the left rivet on the pan had exploded off the product. The rivet is what hit him.

No one hurt Made Feb 7, 2022, sent to the company Feb 9, 2022, published by CPSC Mar 3, 2022
The product, in the report: 6 qt (?) Dutch oven with lid. Enameled cast iron, gray on the outside, white inside.
Food Network Dutch Oven purchased from Kohl’s 3-4 years ago. I was cooking food in the pan when a piece of the enamel lining, about the size of a quarter, exploded into my food. I called kohls this morning to explain the problem but said since I purchased it more than a year ago, they couldn’t do anything. The representative did not want to hear that it was a possible safety issue.

No one hurt Made Jul 19, 2016, sent to the company Jul 27, 2016, published by CPSC Aug 12, 2016
The product, in the report: This is a food network brand pan that was purchased at Kohl’s. It is ceramic non-stick, white inside, silver outside. It is a 9 inch pan, and is marked with the numbers 7105.
I was using my Kohl’s brand ceramic non-stick pan, when one of the rivets that attaches the handle to the pan exploded and flew off. It seemed like it was a result of steam (or something else) building up and bursting the rivet. It flew across the room, and could easily have seriously hurt someone. It made a very loud noise and the rivet flew at a very high rate of speed. The pan was a Kohl’s ceramic non-stick pan, 9 inches, with the number 7105 on the back. It was white on the inside, silver on the outside. This was definitely a dangerous and hazardous condition.
