No one hurt Made Nov 18, 2014, sent to the company Dec 17, 2014, published by CPSC Dec 11, 2014
The product, in the report: It’s the 8 quart round 18/10 Stainless Steel Farberware Millennium pot with lid which is part of a 12 piece cookware set. ( Photo attached)
I had prepared a pot of pasta and was hand washing this 8 quart Farberware 18/10 Stainless Steel pot when the handle snapped/broke off. Fortunately there were no injuries but I shutter when I think what may have happened if this handle had broken off while filled with hot water and pasta. This is a large pot. I could have been scalded or anyone else that was in the kitchen. There were other family members (including my 2 year old granddaughter) present in the kitchen at the time of this incident.
I am now scared to use any of the pots or pans in this cookware set. I have also contacted the company to make them aware of this incident.

No one hurt Made Nov 27, 2011, sent to the company Dec 9, 2011, published by CPSC Dec 23, 2011
The product, in the report: Farberware aluminum clad stainless steel cookware pot, 1 1/2 quart saucepan.
I was steaming two ears of corn in a steamer basket in my Farberware pot on medium high on my electric range, and just as the water boiled out, the bottom of the pot melted all over the burner. There was melted aluminum everywhere. From the Farberware website, I read that this is not covered by Farberware’s lifetime warranty because the 2 digit code on the bottom of the pot is ‘unreadable’, yes, because it melted off, so this item is not covered by a warranty. In all my 50 years of cooking, I have never even heard of a pot melting just when the water boils off. The food did not even burn, and the inside of the pot just has a small haze from the boil off. It is most important that a consumer alert be issued that aluminum clad pots can and will MELT is water boils off!

No one hurt Made Sep 6, 2011, published by CPSC Sep 28, 2011
The product, in the report: 9” Nonstick Skillet with an extra long, unbalancing handle.
The 9” skillet from this set (purchased at walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Farberware-9-and-11-Skillets-Twin-Pack/14892482 ) is unbalanced and can tip over by itself while in use, falling completely off the stovetop. There is a danger of severe burns. If a hot, in use pan falls on a child, it would be a tragedy.
