The product, in the report: Cook Pro 8-Quart 18/10 Stainless Steel Multi-Cooker UPC 878201005120
Cook Pro 8-Quart 18/10 Stainless Steel Multi-Cooker UPC 878201005120 Purchased June 29, 2022 at Walmart located at [REDACTED].
While blanching tomatoes, the lid shattered, throwing glass shards all over my stove and kitchen, including fine long shards that pierced the skin when cleaning up. The pot was half full of low boiling water with the strainer basket in place. I added cold, washed tomatoes and put the lid back on the pot and turned to peel other tomatoes that I had just blanched. A few minutes later, without any interaction from me, the lid shattered. In over 50 years of home canning, I have never had a cooking pot lid do this.
Additionally, when cleaning up the pot, I noticed significant pitting on the inside bottom of the pot. This is another sign of poor quality stainless steel as the pot has only been use about a dozen times since I purchased it on Jun 29, 2022 at the Sandy, Utah store.
