The product, in the report: Espresso machine manufactured by Saeco Company, a subsidiary of Phillips. Model is Via Venzia and model number is SIN 006XN. Machine is made in Romania in December of 2014.
I was using this home espresso machine. I touched the exposed metal top of the machine and the stainless steel counter top in my home at the same time and felt an electrical shock. I measured the voltage between the top of the machine and the counter top at 90 volts AC. The machine was plugged into a two wire ungrounded outlet protected by a ground fault interrupter at the time. I noted that when the main power switch on the machine was turned off, no voltage was present. As soon as the machine was powered up, a voltage of between 30 volts and 120 volts was measured at various times as the machine was powered on and off. No injuries have occurred. .
