Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Whistling Demi 1.25 quarts kettle

This consumer is reporting her teakettle purchased from an online company November 26th, 2018 but not used until December 5th, 2018. On December 5th, this consumer heated her new teakettle to have a cup of tea, however when she started to pour the water into her cup the scalding hot liquid came out like a power hose and at the same time she heard her 7 year old son scream. She put the hot kettle down and treated her child’s burned arm where the scalding water had hit him. The child’s arm is still very dark pink but has not blistered and has not needed physician attention. The caller has contacted the manufacturer but they offered a same product replacement, which the customer does not want to accept .
