  1. No one hurt

Made May 26, 2025, sent to the company Jun 3, 2025, published by CPSC Jun 17, 2025

The product, in the report: I am writing to report a serious safety issue with a childrens product: the Pura Kiki original straw, manufactured by Pura Stainless. This product is marketed for babies and young children, but after minimal use, the valved tip of the straw detaches or falls apart after being bitten, posing a significant choking hazard. I have personally experienced this issue twice with two separate straws from the same pack. The first time it happened, I believed it might have been accidental or a one-off problem. However, after a second straw tip failed in the same manner, I am convinced this is a product defect that could endanger a childs life. These straws were purchased in late February 2025, so they are still relatively new and well within their expected usable period. I am deeply concerned that this product remains on the market and urge the CPSC to investigate and consider issuing a recall or safety warning to protect other children and families from harm. Please let me know if you require photos, the batch number, or any additional documentation. I am more than willing to assist in your investigation. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
