The product, in the report: MAIN STAYS tan colored pot holder mitt
Using a pot holder to take a cookie sheet out of the oven that was on 425 degrees for ten minutes
MAIN STAYS POT HOLDER MITT Me and My Mother To take pans out of the oven Taking the pan from the oven to the counter right next to the oven you can immediately feel the heat through the holder mitt very hot to the touch on your fingers immediately witch should not happen. A good pot holder you would not feel the heat burn you. Not injured per say because we put the pan down a few seconds later but it is still in my opinion an unsafe product to feel the burn through the mitt material after a few seconds. We have older other brand pot holders that don’t do that. Most recently happened a week ago but has been on going for years I just hadn’t thought to report it through here until now.

First aid Made Apr 9, 2023, sent to the company Apr 13, 2023, published by CPSC Apr 27, 2023
The product, in the report: Mainstays Ogee Tile Kitchen Towel, Pot Holder, and Oven Mitt Set, Multi, 15”W x 25”L, 5 Pieces
The Wal-Mart Mainstays (store brand) square pot holders have minimal insulation. If holding a hot pan for more than a few seconds, it can easily burn you. One of my kids that normally helps with cooking received a small burn blister after using our new set of holders to move a pan from the oven. When I tried it, it was quickly uncomfortably hot through the pot holder and I let go before it burned me.
Looking at the reviews on the Wal-Mart website, there are multiple other users mentioning this problem. The set comes with a gloved pot holder, but that one works ok. It’s only the basic square holders that are problematic. This link is to the specific set we bought, but probably affects others as well. [REDACTED]
