The product, in the report: Potholder - caught fire
On March 22, 2012, I used a potholder, purchased at Publix in Boca Raton some years ago, to remove a hot broiler pan from the oven, set the pan on top of the stove and put the potholder on the counter top. I turned to the sink opposite for a moment and turned back to find the potholder in flames. I smothered the fire and found a burn on the white formica counter top. I immediately called the Publix manager, and brought him the next day the burnt potholer and a picture of the burn. Several calls to Publix have ensued, the latest yesterday, April 17. 2012, at which time I was told Publix would accept no responsibility and that I had no proof I even bought the potholder at Publix. Last night, I went through all my American and Publix receipts, which I file for several years , and found a receipt (very faded!) for an “Arden Potholder $3.99 + T” dated 2/5/2008.
