The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made May 15, 2013, sent to the company May 23, 2013, published by CPSC Jun 7, 2013

The product, in the report: Wausau Black plastic towel dispenser with picure of hands pulling towel in white color on front of machine. Push bar if paper towel is not reachable.

We recently had Wausau paper towel dispensers installed in our childcare center through a paper supply company. Three of our adult staff have already gotten lacerations to their fingers including myself when pushing on the dispenser bar. There is a rotating cylinder inside the machine that rotates that the blade is attached onto. Most times you can push the bar and nothing will happen but paper dispensing. Sometimes, however, if the blade is positioned on the bottom, your finger will be sliced. I took a picture of my painful, bleeding finger if you would like me to send it to you. Most people will be embarrassed if this happens to them and not report it. We know how to work a paper towel dispenser being in the daycare environment for many years.
