The product, in the report: Thyme & Table 12x18 Acacia Wood SoHo Cutting Board its has some color variations to it from light to dark wood. It is rectangle with a groove on the top to catch liquids while your cutting and 4 round grips on the bottom corners so it doesnt slide while in use.
I bought two Thyme & Table 12x18 Acacia Wood Cutting Boards from Walmart less than a month ago and I use them not only to cut and prepare food on but to also cover my sink openings in my kitchen for extra counter space. I was using the boards as I normally would and was preparing some food on one of them (I was cutting vegetable for a salad). I didnt notice any issue until I was eating my salad and bit down with n what I thought at first was a vegetable but chewed a couple times and when I chipped one of my teeth I realized something was wrong. I spit my food out and that is when I noticed a fairly large chunk of wood. Thats what I bit down on. Upon further inspection I noticed several small sliver style pieces in the rest of my salad. I inspected the cutting board and there was several chucks and slices of wood missing from the top of the cutting board. If I had been preparing food for my family instead of just myself, which is normally the case, then one of my children could have choked on a piece or broke their teeth or worse! I was using a normal kitchen knife, Ive even used butcher knives before and never had anything like this happen on any cutting board or butcher block Ive ever owned. Luckily its just my tooth and Im not in any major pain just some discomfort from a sharp edged tooth rubbing against my tongue. I wasnt using it in any manor other than what its intended for and this shouldnt have happened. Clearly Ill be discarding the board and possibly the other one as well but consumers should be aware that these boards are not as well made or as hard as they first seem.
