The product, in the report: Size 20 ice cream scoop manufactured by The Zeroll Co. (a/k/a Roll Dippers, Inc.)

While I was rinsing dishes in the sink with lukewarm water, an ice cream scoop (size 20) manufactured by The Zeroll Co., (a/k/a Roll Dippers, Inc.) in the sink exploded making a loud “gun shot” type sound. The two metal plates (end cap & seal disk) at the end of the handle blasted off and both pieces hit my left forearm. The end cap caused an abrasion & laceration, and the seal disk caused a welt and redness of skin. The loud noise from the explosion immediately caused me to completely lose my hearing for approximately two hours. After the total hearing loss subsided, I now have partial hearing loss in both ears. The sound of the explosion also caused tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and severe headaches. I am also having problems with being anxious and jumpy from any sudden noise. I have been to an ENT doctor who had me undergo an audiogram and tympanometry which confirmed severe hearing loss in both ears. I also had a tetanus shot because of the abrasion and laceration of the left forearm. Although I live in Atlanta, Georgia, this incident occurred while I was visiting with my sister in West Palm Beach, Florida.
