The product, in the report: [REDACTED] Stove Guard Pro $279.98 rubber mats cover the bottom of the stove top and they are black. They are made to fit the [REDACTED] Stove Top.
Company does not respond when I told them their product caught fire on our stove top. I ordered the [REDACTED] Stove Guard Pro on August 31, 2026. They proceeded to process my payment and printed a mailing label, but never sent the item. I was forced to contact my credit card company who eventually got them to send it two weeks later. I used the product on my stove top just once and it caught fire and put ash all over my stove, turned my pan bottom white and left residue on grate and burner. This product is unsafe and caused a fire the first time I used it. I believe this company is frauding consumers by selling this item, as it is well documented on this site that others have been experiencing fires too.

Dishwasher Safe Spend less time scrubbing in the kitchen, toss it straight into the dishwasher for an effortless clean. EcoSmart & FamilySafe Our formulated silicone based material is BPA, latex, PVC, and PTFE-free and 100% recyclable.
I am writing to formally report a serious safety failure involving my StoveGuard Pro liner, which caught fire during normal and recommended use.
This was the first use of the product. I was using a small pot on the small, left front burner of my gas range. Despite using the correct burner size and an appropriately sized small pot, the StoveGuard Pro liner caught fire. Needless to say, I am glad I was at the range when this occurred and was promptly able to extinguish the fire.
Because this product is marketed as heat-resistant and specifically designed for gas ranges, it should easily withstand standard use on a small burner. The fact that it ignited under these controlled conditions indicates a critical product defect, such as material warping, improper fit, or a failure in its fire-retardant properties. This incident posed a severe fire hazard to my home and safety.

The product, in the report: 3-Piece Custom Fit Silicone Stove Guard. This product is intended to add a layer of protection from spills and on stovetops. The website asks you to enter your model number, then I believe they have it custom designed (if never done before) then they have it manufactured and shipped. This would explain the 5 month lead time. It is a black silicone material that is approximately 1/8 - 1/4 inch thick.
This issue is in regard to a stovetop cover I purchased for my [REDACTED] oven. The order was placed on Nov 24, 2025 but wasnt received until mid-April, approximately 5 months later. The cover fit nicely and all seemed well, or so I thought. On May 30th, after about 6 weeks of regular use, the silicone stove cover caught on fire while attempting to boil a pot of water. Luckily it was caught and extinguished quickly, but the stove cover was melted and the top of my new stove was discolored and damaged. At least the house didnt burn down. While going back and forth on a denied refund with the company, we continued to use the undamaged portions of the 3-piece cover thinking it might have been a fluke. A few days later it started to catch fire again. In looking at reviews after the fact on [REDACTED], I realized this isnt a unique experience. I read at least two or three other comments about the covers catching on fire, and most said it happened to them twice, as well. This product should be taken off the market and all purchases should be refunded in my opinion.

No one hurt Made Apr 27, 2026, sent to the company Apr 30, 2026, published by CPSC May 14, 2026
The product, in the report: StoveGuard Stove Protector Mat. This is sold as a rubber like mat precision cut for your specific stove model to help collect spills before they reach your stove top making it easier to clean.
Our StoveGuard Protector Mat spontaneously caught FIRE! We purchased it on December 11, 2025, for specific use on our Jenn Air Stove, #SG-SPFY-585868. It was received February 5, 2026. On March 2, 2026, while in proper use, the product suddenly caught on fire, setting off our fire alarm. This was an incredibly dangerous and emotionally distressing incident. I have contacted the company several times, but they refused to refund my money, citing the 14 day return policy. Callously, they have only offered to replace the product with the exact same one, and without any guarantees a fire wont happen again. They also refused to let me speak to a manager. On their website, it only warned of the possibility that the product itself can be affected under certain circumstances, but failed to warn of the possibility that the product can catch fire and cause personal injury and/or structural damage to one’s home. I have seen similar fire complaints on the [REDACTED] website, Saferproducts.gov, [REDACTED], and the company’s review page.

The product, in the report: The product is called a Stoveguard grip. This link is from the company’s website describing the product https://stoveguard.com/products/stoveguard-grip
I ordered this item https://stoveguard.com/products/stoveguard-grip from a company called Stoveguard. It is a silicone mat that is meant to protect the top of a stove, with cutouts for each of the burners.I have only been using it for a few weeks. Last night while boiling water on the left top burner, I noticed flames and smoke coming out from under the pot. I quickly removed the pot from the burner and saw that the mat was on fire around the edge of the burner cutout. It is insane that a product that is meant to be placed on top of a stovetop to protect it would catch fire.

No one hurt Made Feb 25, 2026, sent to the company Feb 27, 2026, published by CPSC Mar 13, 2026
The product, in the report: Their description: “GE StoveGuard PRO | 3D Stove Protector 1 Black / StoveGuard PRO / Single Pack” Custom-cut silicone mat contoured to cover a gas stove range to prevent spills onto the stainless steel surface. Stated heat resistance up to 500 F.
We purchased a Stoveguard for a Cafe 30” gas range, but when preparing a soup base about 2 months after receiving the item with a one year warranty, our mat began smoking and set off the smoke alarms in our house. I shut the heat off immediately and saw the upper edge cracked and smoking from heat. Thankfully, there was no property damage beyond the mat.
