The product, in the report: Soda-Club Sodastream Fountain Jet coda maker.

I had one hand holding the Soda Club brand Soda Club Sodastream Fountain Jet soda maker. I placed the other hand on the top button to carbonate the bottle of water. When I pressed the button, there was a very loud explosion. It sound about like a 22 caliber pistol being fired. It was very painful. Afterward, both hands were in pain. It was a feeling similar to when you awaken and your hand is asleep and then the sharp pain from getting back circulation. I took the back cover off the soda maker to discover the white plastic ring over the top of the compressed air canister had exploded and parts were all over the inside of the case. I called Soda Club company at the number provided inside the machine and reported the incident with great detail within 5 minutes. I was promised someone from headquarters within 24 hours. That was 2 days ago.
