  1. Seen by a doctor or nurse

Made Jan 7, 2016, sent to the company Feb 4, 2016, published by CPSC Feb 22, 2016

The product, in the report: Ultra Beater, Pack of 2 (Metal and Orange Plastic Handle)

The consumer purchased the product from Publisher Clearing House for $11.96.

The consumer was using the beater for the third time on 12/18/15 to mix yogurt. After about 6-7 pushes down, the top plastic cap shot off. The consumer saw 2-3 pieces shoot out. The consumer ducked and turned around to see what happened. At that time, one of the pieces shot out at the back of her head. A spring (size the same as length of the handle) also shot off across the kitchen table.

The consumer had a bump on the back of her head where the piece hit her. The consumer called her doctor because she was in pain and the doctor recommended to take pain killer and to ice the area.

The consumer was able to snap back the cap into the beater. She placed the cap back on without the spring. The consumer stated that the cap is not properly secured and can shoot out because of the spring.

The consumer contacted the retailer on 12/21/15. They agreed to provide her with a credit.

The consumer has one damaged and one unused beater.
