The product, in the report: Salad emulsifier dressing maker used for mixing your own salad dressing. It is a narrow clear acrylic container, about the size of a 12-16 oz. soda can, 3” W x 8”H, with a acrylic lid top that has the stirring mechanism. The top screws into the bottom about a half turn. The plastic lips on the bottom container hold the top on. That is what has chipped off when on use. It is used by squeezing the trigger mechanism which caused the stirring blade to turn and mix the contents inside the bottom container jar.
I purchased through a fund raiser at my grandson’s elementary school a salad dressing maker. It is called Salad Emulsifier Dressing Maker, distributed by Cobble Creek, Landsdale, Pa. (That is the only address information on product container). It is made in China. It is for making your own salad dressing. You add the contents to the clear plastic container, and attach the top, which twists on about half a turn. It has a stirring blade that is attached to the lid, which has a mechanism that you pull like a spray bottle, which in turn causes the internal blade to spin, thus stirring the contents of your salad dressing. During the very first use, I noticed a “click” and discovered that a sliver of plastic from the top of the container that holds the lid on broke off and fell into the dressing mixture. I cleaned everything off and tried to use it a second time, without any contents. This time addition small slivers of plastic broke off again. I can only imagine if ingested, that these slivers could cause serious internal damage to someone. I still have the product. I had found the distributor on-line a wrote a very negative review of this product. I have not heard from them. It seems this item is defective. I surely can not be the only person who has experienced this. I’ve had the item for several months and was going to trash it but thought this product needs to be reviewed and the public, in the interest of their safety, alerted of the defect.
Sincerely,
[REDACTED]
