The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: https://www.walmart.com/ip/CAROTE-Silicon-Cooking-Utensils-Set-for-Kitchen-446-F-Heat-Resistant-10-pcs-Non-Stick-Cooking-Set-with-Wooden-Handle-Spatula-Turner-Spoon-Tongs-Whisk/5279724213

I ordered a set of wooden and silicone cookings utensils from Walmart, which were marked as 75% off. When my shipment arrived, there was a horrible smell of chemical fumes. I tried soaking the utensils in soapy water and then scrubbing vigorously, but the utensils still had a strong smell afterward. I was alarmed why wood and silicone materials would have such a strong and chemical odor, and I have never smelled a product that comes in contact with food smelling anything like this. It did make me wonder whether the product was on such a large sale for some other reason.
