  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 20, 2023, sent to the company Oct 25, 2023, published by CPSC Nov 8, 2023

The product, in the report: Bonny Wine Stopper, pack of 2 #79004. Black plastic and white rubbery ring stopper with black plastic and metal seal, black plastic pull-down tab to expand the white rubbery ring and seal the bottle. Bar code 76753 79004 Bradshaw International, Inc. Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730

Bonny Wine Stopper exploded on first use. The packaging clearly states that this is WINE stopper but also says it “Seals in freshness of champagne or wine” and has a picture of a glass of sparkling wine. That said, I bought these and attempted to use one on a partial bottle of sparkling wine (aka, champagne.) It was extremely difficult to get the white, rubbery stopper into the neck of the bottle. Once it was in I attempted to pull down the tab at which time the entire stopper exploded, spraying wine and metal and plastic parts around the kitchen. The stopper portion actually blew itself down inside the bottle (could not be retrieved) and the metal and plastic portions of the top flew through the kitchen. The packaging includes the name of the company but no web address. I finally found a web address but there is no appropriate “contact us” link.
