The product, in the report: Avid Armor Ultra Chamber Vacuum Sealer. Model # USV20
I have an Avid Armor Ultra vacuum food sealer. I put a small piece of meat in the sealer as I have hundreds of times, pushed the “vacuum and seal” button, turned to walk away and heard what sounded like a gun shot. I shielded my head and ran to another room, I turned to see the sealer lid had completely shattered blowing glass all over my kitchen and another room. The heat and seal strip had been blown off the machine. If I had not turned to walk away I would be in the hospital. I had thousands of tiny pieces of glass all over my counters, floors, and window sill. I did nothing different than I had the hundreds of times using the product. I had thousands of shards of glass on my kitchen counters, floor, and window sill. I had glass all over my kitchen. If I had not turned away I would have had glass in my eyes and face with the extent of explosion.
