The product, in the report: Four stackable tray food dehydrator

The food dehydrator was powered in the on position on the lowest setting (amount of time is unknown) and placed in the consumer’s garage to dehydrate some peaches.

After taking a closer look into the garage the consumer noticed that the cause of the fire and smoke was from the food hydrator. A fire extinguisher located close by was used to put the fire out and the proper authorities were not contacted.

The consumer reports noticing several damages caused by the fire to furniture that was located in the garage and the food hydrator was completely melted. While doing some research online the consumer came across two recalls (see Release #95-157 & #11-104) where both recalls experienced a very similar.

The firm was not contacted but the consumer indicated that she would give them a call . No further information was provided the consumer indicated that her husband was more aware of the incident that took place so she will have him update the report once it was received.
