Hurt, no treatment Made May 15, 2020, sent to the company May 26, 2020, published by CPSC Jun 9, 2020
The product, in the report: 40 piece Flatware, marking indicates Cambridge Silversmiths. sold at Walmart for approximately 50 dollars. I did not keep the original packaging so dont recall the style name but I still have the flatware.
In April of 2020 I purchased a set of flatware manufactured by Cambridge Silversmiths, at Walmart in [REDACTED]. I brought the set home, washed it and put it into use. Within a few of weeks of having the flatware my significant other was using a spoon and he cut his mouth. I claimed it was the spoon that did it. I did not believe it, until my daughter and I both had the same thing happen to us while eating ice cream. Realizing that the flatware was unsafe I pulled all of it out of my drawer. Having done that, I ordered flatware from a company I knew was not going to be a problem to replace the flatware. I also, reached out to Cambridge Silversmiths to let them know what had happened. The representative apologized and offered to replace the flatware with the same kind of flatware. I was not interested as I believed there to be a design flaw. The company did not offer me a refund of any kind but did sent me a pre paid postage return label. I have pictures of the design but I did not save the original packaging or the receipt from Walmart because in all my years I never expected to have dangerous spoons. I filed a complaint with the BBB and am now sending this because I am really concerned. Luckily, the three of us did not have to receive any medical attention. But what if this happens to a very small child. It is concerning that this product is out there. I have agreed to send the product back to the company. But I am concerned that they aren’t going to do anything about it, because the representative stated that it is rare that this happens. It didn’t seem rare to me because every single piece of flatware in the set seemed to all be the same. 40 pieces. One in 1000 maybe is rare, but all 40, didn’t seem rare to me.

No one hurt Made Nov 4, 2013, sent to the company Nov 12, 2013, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2013
The product, in the report: Cambridge Silversmith Fiesta Masquerade
In 2011 I was investigation new silverware and after deciding that Cambridge Silversmith Fiesta Masquerade was my choice I researched consumer complaints about the product. I discovered on your web site and elsewhere reference to a similar made in China product where the color chips peeled off the handles. As the defective product had been recalled and the new product was made in the USA I decided to go ahead with the purchase. I purchase 8 place settings in 2011, and additional 4 place settings and serving set in 2012, and a salad set in 2013. In mid 2013 I noticed that a colored chip had fallen off of a teaspoon. Over the next few months the same thing happened to 5 more for a total of 6 of my 12 teaspoons. I looked at the warranty return address that came with the product and fortunately then went to the web site and found a different address which I confirmed as correct via email communication with the company. The defective product was shipped on 10/8/2013 and received by the company on 10/10/2013. Up until today, 11/1/2013, I heard nothing from them. Yesterday, I noticed that chips had come off 2 soup spoons and a dinner fork. Today I called the company and was asked what product line I was calling about after which I was connected with a woman responsible for returns of Fiesta product. She asked my name and then for about 2 minutes I heard here rustling in the background through the phone which sounded like papers and packages being moved. When she came back on the line she told me that she had located my package and that a replacement would be processed in 7 to 10 days. I asked why I had not heard anything since they received my return 3 weeks ago and the only answer that I got was that she had 36 boxes to sort through. I began to wonder if each and every one of those boxes contained Fiesta silverware with missing color chips. The last straw occurred as I was preparing dinner tonight. I reached to pick up a lid to cover a pot of food and noticed an orange color chip from my Fiesta silverware stuck to the rim. Had I not noticed it, that orange chip would have become part of my pot filled with similar colored seafood and sauce. It seems obvious to me that this company is still shipping defective and potentially hazardous product and that they are well aware of it.

The product, in the report: Fiesta Masquerade Pattern Silverware, 20 piece set.
The consumer says the product has inserts in the handle that keep coming out and becoming a potential hazard.
The consumer says that the product is the same as listed in release # 10-018. She is having the same hazard. The only difference is that they were purchased somewhere else.
The consumer contacted the manufacturer within the last month who told her that they would replace everything and for her to destroy the product. She received her replacements within the last two weeks. The consumer’s concern is that she is not sure if her replacements are safer.
