The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

The product, in the report: Kohler stainless steel trash can with step lever to open the lid. 30 gallon probably?

15 month old daughter put her finger into the gap in the trash can step lever while it was closing. It’s a trash can you step on a lever and it opens the lid then it automatically closes again. It was being used by mom and she opened it and walked away. Baby put her finger in the gap afterwards and it pinched her. She is ok and it looks like it will bruise but no cuts. I tried putting my finger in after to see how sharp it is and there is a pretty sharp corner that the lever pushes your finger into with a decent amount of force.
