    To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to inform you of a recent injury that occurred due to the use of your product (before the product recall). We bought an EKO Sensible Eco Living Motion Sensor Trash can in December. On July 4th, as i was emptying the trash into the bigger garbage can, the black plastic protective collar that protects the sharp exposed tin, became dislodged. Unaware to me, I continued to empty the garbage and proceeded to slice my left index finger (almost off). We visited the ER to receive 8-10 stitched in order to reattach the part of my finger that I lost.

To resolve this problem, I would appreciate you covering the cost of our medical experience, as it was solely due to your product. Enclosed are copies of the medical bill that we received from the ER visit. I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my problem. You may contact me via mail to:

The product, in the report: Tall stainless steel trash container with an automatic, montion-sensing lid. Had a handle on the back which was stainless steel lined with a plastic guard.

We purchased the Eco-Trash can from Costco in Arizona. My son was taking out the trash. The trash can had a poor design and the bags would get stuck. As he was pulling the bag out of the trash can, he did not notice that the guard around the handle had come off and he sliced the top of his index finger off. It required a trip to Urgent care and affected his work at his job and also at his annual training for military reserves.
