The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Jul 14, 2021, sent to the company Aug 10, 2021, published by CPSC Aug 24, 2021

The product, in the report: Eagle Oily Waste Can here is the listing though obviously some of it is false claims: Oily Waste Can (not true), Safety (not true) Can Mounting Style Floor, Can Capacity 10 gal, Can Material Polyethylene, Red, Safety Can Lid Type Foot Operated Self Closing, Height 18 in, Outside Dia. 18 in, Length 22 in, Width 18 in Model 258-935-FL Features Item: Oily Waste Can (not true) Can Color: Red Can Material: Polyethylene Safety Can Lid Type: Foot Operated Self Closing Safety Can Mounting Style: Floor Outside Dia.: 18 in Height: 18 in Standards: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.108 (not true) Width: 18 in Lid Type: Foot Operated Self Closing Capacity: 10 gal. Body Material: Polyethylene Color: Red Length: 22 in Can Capacity: 10 gal Length (Straight Wireway): 22 in Brand: EAGLE Manufacturer Part Number: 935FL Brand Eagle Manufacturer Part Number 258-935-FL Manufacturer Eagle Mfg Assembled Product Weight 15 lb Material HAWA

I ordered an “Oily waste can” on Walmart.com from the seller Zoro that was advertised as being OSHA compliant (the listing says “Standards: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.108”), however, when I received it, it was clearly not actually properly designed as an Oily waste can nor could it be OSHA compliant for this purpose, because an actual oily waste can is supposed to be airtight in the receptacle bin (to prevent spontaneous combustion fires from oily rags- that is its main purpose), and this had huge holes at the joints for the lever mechanism in the receptacle area, making it actually even less airtight than a standard kitchen waste can, for example. The listing is https://www.walmart.com/ip/EAGLE-935FL-Oily-Waste-Can-10-Gal-Poly-Red/19272302 It is supposedly by the brand Eagle, but I have no idea if it really is by them, and I would suggest investigating the seller ZORO and Walmart themselves first. However, this kind of Eagle Oily waste can is advertised on other sites like [REDACTED] and Eagle’s site, but again I don’t know if the problem is that this is a counterfeit product from Zoro/Walmart, or if Eagle’s can itself is really made this way and if they are therefore making false (and dangerous) claims.
