The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Dec 19, 2020, sent to the company Jan 12, 2021, published by CPSC Jan 28, 2021

The product, in the report: Nutripot digital pressure cooker by nuwave 6qt

My nuwave nutripot as soon as plugged in to the outlet has extreme heat coming from unit. This is without hitting any features or buttons to turn it on. This is extremely dangerous and burned my fingers grabbing the internal pressure pot not knowing that it was hot due to not turning it on.

  2. Emergency room

Made May 8, 2019, sent to the company Jun 25, 2019, published by CPSC Jul 10, 2019

The product, in the report: 6 quart electric pressure cooker

The submitter is reporting the unit for posing a burn hazard.

She said she used the potato feature on the unit to cook some potatoes and the unit finished cooking within about 8 minutes. She then pressed the “Stop” button and released the steam. When she unlocked the lid the lid immediately popped off and the contents went flying, causing her burn injuries. She has first and second degree burns on her right forearm, chest and abdominal area. She visited the ER at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (1775 Dempster Street, Park Ridge, IL 60068). She believes the unit failed and the lid is defective.

She has used the unit a few times since January 2019 and she has also used the potato feature without an incident.

She called the firm (877-689-2383) but she was never transferred to a Representative. She plans to contact them again.

Made Jun 27, 2018, sent to the company Jul 5, 2018, published by CPSC Jul 19, 2018

The product, in the report: Nuwave 6Q Electric Pressure Cooker Model: 33101

The lid blew off of my digital pressure cooker while under pressure. It blew off, hit the ceiling and the entire contents were spread about on the walls and floors throughout my kitchen. No one was hurt because we were in the other room, but this could have caused harm to myself and my 15 month old son.
