The product, in the report: It was the Best Buy - Insignia 8 qt multifunction pressure cooker
My husband was cooking soup in the Insignia pressure cooker. He released the steam to open the lid and when he went to open the lid the hot soup started spewing and exploded from the pot. He was treated at a local burn unit for 8-10% TBSA partial thickness burns with an estimated 15% TBSA overall including superficial burns. We later learned that the pressure cooker had been recalled. We never received any emails or written communications advising of the recall.

The product, in the report: Insignia pressure cooker. Stainless steel and black. 14” high 15.9” wide 15.9 pounds
Insignia Model: NS-MC80SS9 My insignia pressure cooker had a recall. I was sent the replacement inner pot and pin, but it has been having many issues ever since. My wife prepared meals with it, but it’s been making noise and many times the pin doesn’t stay in or come out. It seems unsafe and we refrain from using it due to potential injury.
