The product, in the report: It has a purple lever on the handle, and a little yellow button to indicate pressure
My Fagor Rapid Express Pressure Cooker exploded on the stove today. It sounded like a loud gunshot going off and went shooting across the kitchen at me while I was sitting at the table. Luckily neither I, nor my small dogs who were in the kitchen with me, were not seriously injured however I did get burns on my foot and it knocked me off my kitchen chair- so I have a big bruise on my right knee from hitting the floor so suddenly. It also left scrape marks on the ceramic tile that I’m not able to get off. I was cooking chuck roast and it sprayed/splattered all over my kitchen and I was able to clean it off everything except the newly painted white ceiling, where the splatter left quite a few stains, and the scrapes on the ceramic tile. I’m so disappointed, and extremely freaked out that this type of incident can happen, and I wasn’t warned about it!

No one hurt Made Apr 30, 2018, sent to the company Jul 3, 2018, published by CPSC Jul 18, 2018
The product, in the report: FAGOR (Electric Multi-Cooker) pressure cooker appliance. Model: 670041460, Made in China. Stainless Steel outer cover, black plastic cover, 9 button with 2 digit readout control panel.
We experienced a serious issue with the power cord of our FAGOR (Electric Multi-Cooker) pressure cooker appliance. Model: 670041460, Made in China. This product utilizes a low quality undersized hard-wired power cord, and without proper strain release, actually caught fire at the cord entry to the appliance. It is a shame that a company such as FAGOR to allow production of such low quality short-lived and quite dangerous products. These products should NEVER utilize hard-wired flimsy light gauge zip-cord as power cords especially by a product rated to consume 1000 watts at 120VAC. Instead, utilize highly flexible 14 gauge round cable with extra length strain relief with at least IEC 320 C13/C14 or better connections. Power cords can then be easily changed or disconnected during storage. ALL products designed in such a way desperately NEED a national recall. Do not allow dangerous junk sold to the consumer. Do not purchase FAGOR or any other brand that produces products in such a manner.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Mar 28, 2018, sent to the company Jun 6, 2018, published by CPSC Jun 20, 2018
The product, in the report: Silver/Black/Gray Pressure cooker with 3 valve release and safety release button.
On 3/26/2018 @ approximately 1700 hours, I was using my Fagor pressure cooker to cook a roast. The cooker was not sealing properly, and steam/liquid kept spewing out the handle area, which houses the safety mechanism. I turned off the burner, and moved the cooker off the burner. As I moved it by the black handles, the top/bottom handles moved and the top opened under pressure and contents exploded out and all over me. The safety feature that doesn’t allow the device to open under pressure failed function. I have suffered partial thickness burns requiring medical attention as a result of this.

The product, in the report: Fagor Splendid 2 in 1pressure cooker Item #918060714
I was using a Fagor Splendid pressure cooker to make beef stew. This is about the 6th time I have used this appliance. Everything seemed to be operating as usual. It had been under pressure for the time specified in my recipe. I removed it from the heat to cool. Suddenly the “operating valve” (used to release pressure) blew off breaking into two large pieces and at least one small sliver. The valve is made of plastic.

The product, in the report: Fagor Rapid Express Pressure Cooker
This morning my Fagor Rapid Express pressure cooker malfunctioned and blew the gasket and went off like a bomb. I believe I would have been severely injured if I had been in the kitchen at the time. The contents of the faulty cooker consisted of only pinto beans and water. I have been using pressure cookers for more than 35 years and I truly believe that this brand should be recalled and taken off the market. Fortunately for me I will be cleaning pinto slime and crust off of every surface in my kitchen for weeks to come instead of doing rehab in a burn unit. I am feeling very grateful tonight.

The product, in the report: Fagor Pressure Cooker Elite line
My wife has suffered 2nd degree burns using a Fagor pressure cooker. She was using the pressure cooker to cook lentils. The pressure cooker was on the stove building pressure for 7 minutes and it flew off the stove and emptied its contents via the vent valve. The pressure cooker was half full when see started the cooking process and when I opened it, the cooker was empty.

The product, in the report: Larger cooker of Fagor Rapida 5-pc Pressure Cooker Set
My two-year-old Rapidia pressure cooker exploded (seal broken).
There are two reasons why I want to report this incident. First, I believe that the cooker wasn’t designed properly. Its safety valve should have prevented the incident to happen by releasing the steam pressure, or a stronger seal needs to be used.
Second, I believe there is a design flaw in the location of the safety valve which is bundled together with the normal steam outlet. This design can prevent people from telling if the steam is from the normal outlet or the safety release valve. Because of the design flaw, it’s very hard for most users to tell the difference between steams released from the safety valve and from the normal valve. As a result, it’d be impossible for most users to tell when the safety valve is open and when to remove the heat from the cooker. If the steam is out from the safety valve, users would be able to identify the problem in time and remove the heat to avoid the explosion.

No one hurt Made Jun 15, 2012, sent to the company Jun 26, 2012, published by CPSC Jul 18, 2012
The product, in the report: Metallic Steam Basket with holes and unsafe metallic handle. It is part of a pressure cooker set Model number per Amazon is: 918060778 ASIN: B00023D9S0
I bought my pressure cooker set (Fagor Duo) a week ago, and I just found out that the steam basket handle goes off extremely easy as the design of it does not allow to hold the basket with the weight of vegetables or any food. My concern is that I realized about this when I tried to take my basket filled with raviolis from a pot full of boiling water; the handle went off and the basket splashed back into the pot spattering hot, boiling water all over! . I would like to know what it is the procedure to make a recall for this item (steamer basket) as it is very dangerous. It can create really bad injuries with the boiling water, this is a safe feature. Fortunately nothing happens to me or my husband but I would really like to know if there is a way to change the basket and do the recall for future costumers. I definetly won’t use this basket again.
