The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 28, 2023, sent to the company May 24, 2023, published by CPSC Jun 8, 2023

The product, in the report: 11 liter stove-top pressure cooker

Our organization, [REDACTED], have had several families test high for lead. They are Afghan, and this is not unsual for a newly-arrived family. However the Monroe County Health Dept. came and tested everything in their house, and found a lead content of 2.5 mg/cm2 in the brand new pressure cooker they were using. The county then tested a brand new one in our office and had the same reading. We have distributed approximately 140 of these pressure cookers to our families over the last several years, and give each family a new one to ensure there is no lead. The company posts a ‘CE’ mark on their packaging! That is a huge deal. The letters ‘CE’ appear on many products traded on the extended Single Market in the European Economic Area (EEA). They signify that products sold in the EEA have been assessed to meet high safety, health, and environmental protection requirements , however this product does not meet the requirements. I have the brand new pressure cooker and the box and photos for identifying information. Type of product: Pressure Cooker Brand: CHEF
