The product, in the report: Generac PowerCell battery. There is a serial number on the inverter but not the battery. Inverter is serial number XVT07-23390
I have generac power cell solar with a backup battery. Finally got them running after a year and 3 months of trying to get it online. After just 10 days the backup battery started smelling really strongly of an electrical fire. I pulled off the cover and smoke billowed out. I immediately shut it down and cooled the system down to stop the smoke. If I hadn’t been home to stop it before it burst into flames, my house would have burned down. If I had been sleeping I could have died. I immediately called generac. That was on 12/18/23. It’s been 5 days and they haven’t called me back or done anything to address the safety issue. I’m scared that this system is still in my home
