Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

Made Dec 9, 2019, sent to the company Jan 28, 2020, published by CPSC Feb 11, 2020

The product, in the report: Surge Protector

The consumer indicates that the vaporizer she had connected to her surge protector shot water two feet away from it. The surge protector failed to shut off so it was smoking and sparking. The consumer notes that the surge protector was somewhat black at the top. The unit would not shut off immediately but rather after the consumer tried turning it off five or six times.

The consumer notes that the smell of burning still lingers her home.

The consumer indicates that surge protector was used daily for eight hours as she purchased the product specifically for her dialysis machine and its modem. Being disabled, the consumer is unable to unplug the surge protector from the wall as she cannot move the dresser that blocks it; her son will do so on 12/18/2019 when he visits her.

The consumer plans on keeping her surge protector for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
