The product, in the report: Stanley 3’ 9 outlet “relocatable power tap”
I purchased a Stanley “relocatable power tap” (3’ power strip with 9 outlets) a week ago at Fry’s in Portland, OR. I plugged it in this afternoon and when I switched it on, it failed with a loud “pop” (almost an explosion) and visible flash. The GFI protecting that circuit tripped and prevented further damage. When I removed the back plate from the unit, the circuit board under the switch was visibly blacked and melted.
