The product, in the report: Sealed Unit Parts Company, Inc. SCM150 air conditioner surge arrester.

General alarm for a possible structure fire. Enroute dispatch stated fire was an A/C unit on outside of house. T53 on scene with a two story single family frame 30x70 with a smoldering fire on the “B” side of the home and occupants outside. Occupant had already extinguished most of the fire with a garden hose. T53 did a 360 and checked for extension into the house. Power shut down by T53. When E52 arrived they pulled a 200’ 1 3/4” line and started overhaul on the outside wall near the A/C unit. Light smoke conditions in house. Fire was contained to a 10’ x10’ area on the outside of the home. Primary and secondary search completed with ventilation of interior “opening windows”. Fire under control and fire investigation completed which indicated most probable cause of incident to be a Supco SCM150 surge arrester for the air conditioning unit.
