No one hurt Made May 7, 2020, sent to the company May 20, 2020, published by CPSC Jun 4, 2020
The product, in the report: Prime Current Tap with Surge Protector, Model LPBUSB342S 792207
The Prime Current Tap with Surge Protector, Model LPBUSB342S 792207, was purchased from Lowe’s and plugged into an outlet that had previously been used by a cordless phone for 15 years without any issues. I used it to charge my phones and tablets for a few days, no issues. My wife was upstairs in our home and heard her phone beeping like it was being connected and disconnected from the power supply so she went to check it out and the unit was smoking and smelling like burning plastic. She was able to get it unplugged but it was very hot...

No one hurt Made Dec 6, 2018, sent to the company Feb 26, 2019, published by CPSC Mar 13, 2019
The product, in the report: Prime USB Charger with Surge Protection, Model# LPBUSB346S, 6 Outlet & 2 USB Charging port, 3.4A USB
Surge protector from Prime made a sizzling sound and melted part of the unit and cause black scorching on unit as well as wall receptacle.
Had a space heater and [REDACTED] charging in the Surge Protector unit. Neither item was damaged.
My concern is that the unit go hot enough to melt and cause black scorching.
I called the company and they quickly pointed out that in the very fine print it states not to plug a heater in the unit. 99.9% of consumers do not read, the over half way down the page, super fine print and would miss this. Put this at the top of the page!!
In my opinion there should be a larger warning on the packaging and not buried in the fine print.

No one hurt Made Nov 17, 2018, sent to the company Nov 27, 2018, published by CPSC Dec 12, 2018
The product, in the report: Prime Relocatable Power Tap Model Number: 002126(YLPT-21AM2)
A power strip tripped circuit breaker due to faulty internal wiring. The power strip was inside a wall unit and I believe it would have caused a fire had the breaker not trip. Power strip is a cheap model manufactured in China and I would like to try to prevent other people from having a more disastrous outcome for people who live in older homes.
