The product, in the report: USB Wall Charger, Surge Protector, POWRUI 6-Outlet Extender with 2 USB Charging Ports (2.4A Total) and Night Light, 3-Sided Power Strip with Adapter Spaced Outlets - WhiteETL Listed.
Multi plug outlet with 2 USB ports and 3 level brightness night light with dusk to dawn sensor. Outlet plug got hot and melted while charging a notebook computer. Had issues with 2 of these products one arced, threw sparks melted the metal prong and turned the wall black, the outlet and the unit. It nearly caused my kitchen to catch fire. Product was being used according to the directions. No injuries occurred. Amazon.com reviews have photos posted by other consumers showing photos of this product failing, melting at the outlets almost causing house fires. I have photos of mine. I had returned the one that arced and turned black for a replacement.

Hurt, no treatment Made May 31, 2023, sent to the company Jun 2, 2023, published by CPSC Jun 16, 2023
The product, in the report: [REDACTED] USB Wall Charger, Surge Protector, POWRUI 6-Outlet Extender with 2 USB Charging Ports (2.4A Total) and Night Light, 3-Sided Power Strip with Adapter Spaced Outlets - White,ETL Listed Brand POWRUI Color White Total Power Outlets 6 Total USB Outlets 2 ASIN: B07CCGBB7M Model AHR-508/QF-519F
I purchased two “POWRUI 6-Outlet Extender with 2 USB Charging Ports (2.4A Total) and Night Light, 3-Sided Power Strip with Adapter Spaced Outlets - White” (ASIN: B07CCGBB7M) from Amazon on May 19, 2023. They arrived on May 20th.
I was using the product. I was using it as directed, following the included installation instructions.
Shortly after plugging the first unit in and using its included mounting screw to safely secure it to the outlet, it began popping, smoking, and shooting impressive amounts of sparks out of every hole, before eventually popping the breaker. While the power was still cut, I removed the unit from the outlet, revealing that it was melted all the way through its center mounting screw hole, and had scorched the [REDACTED] out of my outlet’s wall plate and plugs. Stupidly, I tried using my thumb to pull the screw out after not waiting long enough, only to quickly discover that it was still extremely hot. I burned my thumb, less worse than an average kitchen burn but still enough to hurt for a few days.
Had I not been holding in insulated screwdriver correctly while installing this, I would have been receiving a significant portion of a direct-to-ground fault!
