The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Consumer Electric YLPT-43 surge protector/power strip in color white. 6 ports. Also has markings Intertek 4008493 on it. Has sticker 1912 on it

An item plugged into a power strip would not power on. Using a plug wiring tester I identified all plugs on the power strips had an open neutral. The wall outlet the power strip was plugged into passed the plug wiring tester test so this wasn’t an issue with the wall outlet. Upon opening the surge protection power strip up I observed neither the hot or neutral rails were soldered to the surge protection circuitry.

This was a Consumer Electric surge protector/power strip model YLPT-43 made in China #1912 (a sticker on it).
