The product, in the report: white APC surge protector with 8 outlets
Early this Saturday morning, between 2:00-3:00 am i awoke smelling wires burning. I was unable to determine where the smell was coming from, so I immediately shut off the main breaker. Me and my husband searched the house all morning/afternoon, and discovered the problem as we moved our entertainment center. The APC surge protector was burned and melted beyond belief. It burned our carpet, part of the entertainment center, and ruined our DVD and stereo system that were plugged into the unit.
