  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 28, 2022, sent to the company Nov 15, 2022, published by CPSC Nov 30, 2022

The product, in the report: Anker 623 charging station On the label: PowerExtend USB-C 3 Capsule, Model A9132 Amazon description below: Anker USB C Desktop Charging Station, 623 Capsule Power Strip with 45W USB C Charger, 3 Outlets, 15W 2 USB Ports, 6ft Power Cord, Power Delivery for Desktop Accessory, [REDACTED], Tablets, [REDACTED]

I use an Anker 623 purchased on July 13, 2022 from Amazon. (Anker USB C Desktop Charging Station, 623 Capsule Power Strip with 45W USB C Charger, 3 Outlets, 15W 2 USB Ports, 6ft Power Cord, Power Delivery for Desktop Accessory, [REDACTED], Tablets, [REDACTED]).

On 10/21/22 around 10:46 AM I smelled something burning, my husband got up and walked around the house. I was in the family room. I told him it was really bad in here and called him back up. I got up and heard a loud pop and saw smoke coming out the Anker 623 device. I immediately unplugged the [REDACTED] charger (nothing was plugged into it), the Anker USB C to USB C cable and one other cable. The Anker USB C cable was plugged into my [REDACTED] over USB C at the time of the incident. My husband took the item out to the driveway for safety as it continued smoking for awhile. The other cables that were plugged in had the same smoky smell as well. If we were not home or if I was in another room this would have likely caused a lot of damage to our home, pets, etc. I used Anker all the time and reported the incident to them and sent them photos. I have the device here. Anker has asked me to send it back but i want to make sure this is investigated as a full on fire could have occurred. The damage is internal to the device as we caught it quickly thankfully.

Device: Anker 623 Purchase Date: 7/13/22 Purchase Location: Amazon Items plugged into Device: Anker USB C 643 cable that was plugged into a [REDACTED], [REDACTED] charger but nothing was plugged into the adapter and a USB to Micro USB cable with nothing plugged into it. Power to Anker was into a wall outlet in the room

Damage was to the device only and cables attached while they still work have an awful smell.

    Device still in hand.

The product, in the report: see above

I purchased a Anker 6 Outlet, 4 USB Port PowerStrip/Surge Protector PowerPort Strip with 5ft Cord for [REDACTED] Vacuum, Air Purifier, and [REDACTED] for [REDACTED], [REDACTED], and Tablets from Amazon. Initially, it blew a fuse in my fuse box overnight, then when I plugged it back in, flames shot out of the plugs and it began smoking. Fortunately, I was using it (not my 9 year old daughter) and I unplugged it immediately. I only had one device, an [REDACTED] plugged into the USB, nothing was plugged into the actual standard plugs.
