The product, in the report: Dream on me Toddler Bed (Espresso) https://a.co/d/0197qC7F

    To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to formally report a serious safety hazard involving your toddler bed product (purchased via the following link: https://a.co/d/05bZ4s8W).

On April 25, 2025, at approximately 4:45 A.M., my 2-year-old child became entrapped when his head became stuck underneath the bed frame. This was a terrifying situation that could have resulted in suffocation, serious injury, or death.

This incident raises significant concerns about the safety design of this product, specifically the presence of a gap or clearance area large enough to allow a childs head to become trapped. Entrapment hazards like this are well-documented and are specifically addressed in established safety standards for toddler beds, which are intended to prevent exactly this type of incident. Safety guidance indicates that openings or gaps must be small enough to prevent head entrapment, as even a few inches can pose a suffocation risk.

The fact that a toddlers head was able to become lodged under the bed indicates a potentially dangerous design flaw or inadequate safety testing.

    I am requesting the following:

    * A formal investigation into this products safety design * Documentation of the safety standards this product was tested against * Information on whether similar incidents have been reported * Immediate steps your company plans to take to address this hazard

I have documented this incident and am prepared to provide photos and additional details upon request. This presents a serious risk to children.

Please treat this matter with urgency. No parent should have to experience a situation where their childs life is put at risk due to a preventable product hazard.

    I expect a prompt response.

    Sincerely, [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Toddler Bed - Natural finish Company: Dream On Me Style 624, manufacturing code “ausy,” and date of manufacture September 2010

I have two Dream On Me toddler beds for my twins. The beds that I have are style 624, manufacturing code “ausy,” and date of manufacture September 2010. I purchased the beds in or about January 2011. Several months ago I noticed a serious safety issue with one of the beds. There was a piece of sharp, jagged metal sticking out of the frame underneath the mattress in the direction facing where the child would be sleeping. This piece was coming out directly under the bolt that holds the side rail to the frame (the end of the rail that is halfway down the frame, not up at the headboard side). I pulled the piece of metal out with a pair of pliers and found that it was half of a broken nail, and the broken end had worked its way out through the wood of the frame. This piece of nail was approximately 1 inch long. I did contact the company at that time but only could reach someone’s voicemail. I left a message but never heard back from anyone from the company.

Two nights ago (Sunday, May 20, 2012...actually very early AM Monday, May 21) I realized that the same issue was happening on one side of the other bed. Again, I pulled the piece of metal out and again it was a piece of broken nail of the same size. In addition, I found that the second side of the first bed was starting the same issue, with a piece of metal starting to poke through but not all the way through yet. Yesterday, Monday, May 21, 2012 I called the company again to report this issue. My first phone call was answered by a man who listened to my explanation, said he was going to go check on it and put me on hold where I waited listening to silence for 10 minutes (giving him the benefit of the doubt that I was actually still on hold!) and then hung up. I then called back and a woman answered. I explained to her that I had spoken to someone about an issue with one of the products and had been disconnected, and she offered to transfer me to customer service. I was then transferred to the voice mail of someone named [REDACTED] and left a message explaining the whole issue. I heard nothing from her today.

UPDATE: I said that the slats fall out and do not stay in place. After going over the directions one more time I realized that the middle slat that has two screws on either side were installed wrong by myself. After fixing the screws the bed is put together right and the slats no longer fall out.

I ordered the Classic Sleigh Toddler Bed, Pecan - 642PC off of The Babys Kingdom a seller on Amazon on 3/16/12. I got the bed and put it together per the instructions. The slats that line the bottom of the toddler bed fall out and do not stay in place. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me new slats and those also fall out. This item is not safe and needs to be recalled.
