Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made Feb 9, 2022, sent to the company Feb 11, 2022, published by CPSC Feb 28, 2022

The product, in the report: “Meridian Furniture Joy Velvet Ottoman/Fredson 14.5” Wide Velver Rouch Standard Ottomon” Velvet, pink 17 inches high and 14 inches wide, encircled by a gold metal band at the base.

I (the consumer) sustained an injury from an ottoman I purchased in June 2020 from Wayfair, the Fredson 14.5” Wide Velvet Round Standard Ottoman. I was using the product as intended and moved my foot down from the Ottoman when my toe made contact with the metal base which lacerated my toe. When I searched the product online to contact the manufacturer, I found that a recall had been issued for this exact product in October of 2021 and at least 6 laceration injuries have been reported. I had never been informed about the recall by the manufacturer, Meridian furniture nor by the vendor, Wayfair. I had no knowledge of the recall prior to the injury.
